Apparently it's tonight

Just heard that the spot on Brisbane Extra is going to be on TV tonight. The lovely Kevin has promised to tape and capture for my dear mother who will have a fit if she doesn't get to see the segment.

Well the rest of us have all been on television recently, and you have been lagging behind. Thank God you have now fallen into line.
Just remember - we are pooling the pay cheques.

Nice work, Jo.

The point about legal implications was a good one - people don't tend to think about the privacy issues with data communications of all kinds. I suspect it's because of an ingrained view coming from the fact that postal mail is (normally) sacrosanct.

I thought the comments by Natalie Hall rather jejeune. She seemed to be suggesting that there ought to be some sort of codified set of norms.

Rather, norms regarding text messaging emerge through countless individual acts of interaction and responses. This then sets up a new set of patterns which becomes both embedded and dynamic.

What we need are some good studies by communications researchers and sociologists on these emergent norms.

Incidentally, an ex of mine tried to maneouvre me into a text dump. I insisted on the old fashioned face to face "why we're not going to keep seeing each other" thing by virtue of switching off my phone.

ps - I think typekey still has my old email address which I can no longer access. Any tips on editing it so that the gmail address is current appreciated!
